The Falcon Falcons won the last time they faced The Classical Academy Titans, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Falcon snuck past The Classical Academy with a 49-45 win.
Falcon's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Eric Graham led the charge by scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Aiden Wood, who scored 13 points along with two steals.
When it comes to explaining why The Classical Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jordan Wenger. Despite the final result, he scored 28 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That was a full 62.2% of The Classical Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ky Walker, who scored four points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, The Classical Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Falcon only pulled down three offensive rebounds.
Falcon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. As for The Classical Academy, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-8.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Falcon will challenge Sand Creek at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Falcon is coming into the game with four straight wins on the road, meaning Sand Creek will have to defend against a team hungry for a win. As for The Classical Academy, they will square off against Canon City at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully The Classical Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Tuesday.
