The Moran Bulldogs's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 13th straight loss. They were dealt a 57-29 loss at the hands of Cross Plains. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Moran in their matchups with Cross Plains: they've now lost seven in a row.
Several Bulldogs players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kielar Carr, who scored 12 points. Carr scored a full 41.4% of Moran's points, the eighth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Leanna Sikes, who scored nine points.
Moran's loss was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-17. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 19.3 points per game. As for Cross Plains, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-13.
Moran will face off against Rising Star at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Rising Star is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Cross Plains, they will be playing at home against Eula at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Eula is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
