Baseball Recap: D'Evelyn Comes Up Short

If D'Evelyn was riding high fresh off their 14-4 takedown of Standley Lake last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. D'Evelyn took an 11-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Windsor Wizards on Thursday. Even though they lost, the Jaguars' still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.1 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Ryan Kim was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Jack Meiser, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one triple.

D'Evelyn's loss dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Windsor, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Looking ahead, D'Evelyn will welcome Englewood at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. D'Evelyn's pitchers better be ready for this one: Englewood has averaged an impressive 7.2 runs per game this season. As for Windsor, they are taking a road trip to challenge Falcon at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Falcon's pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so Windsor's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
