Mitch Friebel posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Thursday. He struck out nine batters over 6.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off eight hits (and only one walk). He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in five consecutive appearances.
