Glen Rose's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victor by a 10-0 margin over Centerpoint. The Beavers haven't had any issues with the Knights recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.
J. Vann was excellent, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. He also hit a double, marking his first of the season. P Johnson was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
Meanwhile, Baptist Prep is still undefeated this season after their match against Harmony Grove on Tuesday, but Harmony Grove came as close as anyone has to beating them. Baptist Prep came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured an 8-7 W against Harmony Grove.
Hutch Finton made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Aaron Fielder, who went 2-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Carson Wake, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Glen Rose's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Baptist Prep, their record now sits at 6-0.
Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Glen Rose has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .492. However, it's not like Baptist Prep struggles in that department as they've averaged .529. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
