After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Smith Valley, Mineral County was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Eureka Vandals as they made off with a 19-2 win. Considering the Serpents have won seven matchups by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.
Taiylor Sanchez was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed five innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. Sanchez was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March.
In other batting news, Mineral County got a massive performance out of Aveline Blinco, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with four stolen bases and four runs. Those four runs gave Blinco a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Chesney Wilson, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, four runs, and one double.
Mineral County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Eureka only posted an OBP of .381.
Mineral County has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Eureka, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
