C1 District 3 recap November 5, 2013
Wahoo's Ethan Stratman recorded the longest rushing play in C1 District 3 this season in his game against Fort Calhoun last week. Stratman's team beat the Pioneers as he sprinted for 81 yards on the play and finished with 238 in all.
Ashland-Greenwood added to the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Boys Town, 42-0. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Bluejays.
Gunnar Garner was a passing and rushing force as Ashland-Greenwood defeated the Cowboys. He completed 7 passes for 106 yards and also ran for 174 yards. Garner's key target this week was Bryce Chudomelka, who caught 3 passes for 41 yards.
Stratman was a beast in the backfield as Wahoo beat Fort Calhoun.
Brandon Zetocka was the best receiver in the league this week as Chad Fox's team bested Andrew Christensen's team. Zetocka tallied 3 receptions for 57 yards.
Raymond Central's Ben Lodema and Sam Isaacson have formed a dream team this season, leading C1 District 3 in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Lodema has thrown for 1,402 yards this season, while Isaacson has 47 catches for 821 yards. Bishop Neumann's Travis Carnahan leads the league in rushing yards with 887.
The Cavaliers' offense has racked up 289 points this season, earning them the top spot in the league, while the Warriors have allowed only 115 on the year.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Wahoo takes on Bishop Neumann. As it stands, the Warriors are in second, while Tim Turman's team is in third.
Ryan Thompson's team took down Boys Town 42-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Garner ran for 174 yards during the win.
