Everything came up roses for California School for the Deaf-Riverside against Riverside County Education Academy on Wednesday as the squad secured a 52-6 victory. California School for the Deaf-Riverside were expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
The game started off well for California School for the Deaf-Riverside, whose offense put up 44 first-half points. Meanwhile, Riverside County Education Academy couldn't get anything going offensively, leaving the score at 44-0 heading into the break. California School for the Deaf-Riverside defense stood its ground in the third quarter, giving up 0 and all but finishing the game.
Among those leading the charge for California School for the Deaf-Riverside was senior Dylan Duarte, who threw 3 TDs and picked up 40 yards on the ground. The win bumped their record up to 3-4. Riverside County Education Academy are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-3-1.
California School for the Deaf-Riverside will take on Villanova Prep at home at 7:00 PM next week. Riverside County Education Academy will have some time to rest before their next contest, which is against Noli Indian in two weeks at 6:30 PM.
