AAA District 1 recap Oct. 23, 2012
Science Hill extended the longest winning streak in AAA District 1 this week by beating Tennessee, 76-48. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
David Crockett's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Pioneers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Ryan Burger has thrown for 437 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Devin Walker has 13 catches for 265 yards. Jordan Turner leads the league in rushing with 348 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Dobyns-Bennett and Science Hill. The Indians enters the game ranked fourth in the state, while Stacy Carter's team ranks 11th.
Sullivan Central made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 8,554 from 8,998. The improvement was the result of 54-32 victory over David Crockett last week.
