The Hodgeman County Longhorns''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against South Barber, falling 64-18. Hodgeman County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-12.
Several Longhorns players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Ian Reece, who rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 60 receiving yards.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead South Barber to victory, but perhaps none more so than Briggs Jewell, who threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns on only 18 passes, and also punched in two touchdowns on the ground. Jewell hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. Lukas Dunham was another key contributor, gaining 116 total yards and four touchdowns.
Hodgeman County's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for South Barber, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Hodgeman County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. South Barber will face off against Victoria at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd. Victoria is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
