Wake Forest is 8-2 against Millbrook since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Cougars will head out on the road to face off against the Wildcats at 3:30 p.m. The last three games Wake Forest has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
While Wake Forest's victory against Rolesville wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cougars narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Rams 3-2. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Rams recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

Jil Livengood spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on three hits and racked up 16 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Wake Forest saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Abbey Lauer, who went 1-for-2 with one double.
Wake Forest hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rolesville struck out 16 times.
Meanwhile, Millbrook made easy work of Knightdale on Monday and carried off a 16-1 win.
Nicole Drew was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alayna Pitman, who went 4-for-5 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple.
Wake Forest's victory bumped their record up to 14-1. As for Millbrook, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-8.
Millbrook's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Wake Forest has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 15.1 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Millbrook, though, as they've been averaging only 4.1 strikeouts. Will Wake Forest keep running through batters, or will the Wildcats buck the trend?
Wake Forest took their victory against Millbrook in their previous meeting two weeks ago by a conclusive 10-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
