San Dieguito Academy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 775th, while La Costa Canyon is ranked 67th).
San Dieguito Academy suffered their biggest loss since December 22, 2023 on Tuesday. They were dealt a 81-43 defeat at the hands of Carlsbad. San Dieguito Academy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-18.
Meanwhile, La Costa Canyon fought the good fight in their overtime game against Torrey Pines on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Falcons by a score of 67-65. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their last game on Tuesday (63), La Costa Canyon still had to take the loss.
San Dieguito Academy has not been sharp recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-14 record this season. As for La Costa Canyon, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-5.
San Dieguito Academy came up short against La Costa Canyon in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, falling 67-56. Can San Dieguito Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
