The biggest upset of the week belonged to Westlake, who took down 279th ranked Irvington, 14-7. JC Zangrilli in the win.
Putnam Valley extended the longest winning streak in Section 1 B this week by beating Palisade Prep, 55-0. The victory was the fourth in a row for the team.
Putnam Valley's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Zack Nolan threw for 94 and one touchdown and Mike Walsh had 46 yards receiving. On the ground Richard Goods chipped in 94 yards. Jacob Anderson helped Putnam Valley's passing attack out by catching three balls for 26 yards.
Mark Polak made the biggest impact on defense this week as the Wildcats beat the Bulldogs. The 6-foot-0 senior grabbed two sacks.
Ardsley's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Panthers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Carlos Monserrate has thrown for 806 yards and nine touchdowns this season, while Gabe Kardish has 26 catches for 536 yards. George Difiore leads the league in rushing with 620 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Pleasantville takes on Nanuet. The Panthers are in second place, while the Golden Knights are in third place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Pleasantville takes on Nanuet. Tony Becerra's team has allowed 60 points this season, while Richard Conklin's team has given up 82.
The Golden Knights moved up to 196 from 269 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Section 1 B. Nanuet was able to make move up by defeating Croton-Harmon 41-7.
