The Browne Bruins suffered their closest  defeat yet this season on Thursday. They fell just short of Alhambra by a score of  42-39. Browne was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Alhambra apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in December of 2023.
 Browne's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Desmyn Beavers-smith, who  scored 12 points along with two  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Adam Chaffin, who  scored 12 points along with eight  rebounds and two  steals.
 Even though they lost, Browne  smashed the offensive glass and  finished the game with 19  offensive rebounds. That's the most  offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
 This is  the second loss in a row for Browne and  nudges their season record down to 8-11. As for Alhambra, their victory  ended a 15-game drought at home  and  bumped them up to 1-15.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Browne and North will face off  at 7:00  p.m.  on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another  in Arizona (North is ranked 198th, while Browne is ranked 209th). As for Alhambra, they will head out on the road to  challenge  Carl Hayden Community at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday.
