Upper Scioto Valley is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 12-4 margin over Temple Christian on Monday. The Rams haven't had any issues with the Pioneers recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Caiden Lowery was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jesse Prater, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryan Roberts, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI.
Upper Scioto Valley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Temple Christian only posted a batting average of .154.
Meanwhile, Elgin never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on Waynesfield-Goshen with a sharp 14-0 win. Considering the Comets have won four games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Upper Scioto Valley, Elgin also got a great game from a two-way player: Colton Ware. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Ware was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Elgin got a big performance out of Jacob Walker, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Evan James was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.
Upper Scioto Valley's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Elgin, their win bumped their record up to 7-4-1.
