Section 5 Monroe Division II recap Oct. 23, 2012
Brockport extended the longest winning streak in Section 5 Monroe Division II this week by beating Greece Athena, 35-21. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
Brockport led the league in scoring this week after putting up 35 points on the Trojans.
Churchville-Chili's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. John Iacucci threw for 140 and one touchdown and Austen Correia had 57 yards receiving. On the ground Josh Powell chipped in 143 yards. James Latona helped Churchville-Chili's passing attack out by catching two balls for 30 yards.
Thanks to the talents of Iacucci and Powell the Saints have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Iacucci leads the league in passing with 1132 yards, while Powell has rushed for 1011 yards this season. Greece Athena's Ryan Prevost leads the league in receiving yards with 505 on 30 catches.
The Blue Devils' Denzel Knight is a mere 98 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. In 103 carries Knight has accumulated 902 yard this year.
