The Warhill Lions will take on the Smithfield Packers at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Smithfield will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Warhill extended their winning streak to three on Monday. The Lions' pitchers stepped up to hand Jamestown a 14-0 shutout.
Landen Caldeyro looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Warhill let Brayden Muniz and Evan Harney run wild. Muniz went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run, while Harney went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Devon Price, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
Warhill always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .529. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jamestown only posted an OBP of .300.
Meanwhile, Smithfield won against Lafayette on Wednesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Packers blew past Bruton 11-0.
Quincy Carr was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Carr was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with three RBI and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Tanner Brobst and Cole Barnes did most of the damage at the plate: Brobst went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run, while Barnes got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs. Those two runs gave Barnes a new career-high. Maddox Tugwell was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Warhill's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Smithfield, their win bumped their record up to 2-0.
Warhill beat Smithfield 7-3 in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Do the Lions have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Packers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
