Basketball Recap: Klein Forest Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Neiman Berry and Kamila Montes

Klein Forest lost against Klein Collins back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Klein Forest Eagles might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 54-43 to the Klein Collins Tigers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 635th, while the Tigers are ranked 108th).

Despite the loss, Klein Forest had strong showings from Kamila Montes, who went 6 for 12 on her way to 12 points and five steals, and Neiman Berry, who went 6 of 14 on her way to 12 points. That's the most points Berry has posted since back in November of 2023.

Klein Collins got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was A'Niyah Harmon out in front who went 9 of 18 on her way to 27 points and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Christen Campbell, who dropped a triple-double on ten points, 15 boards, and ten steals.

Klein Forest has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season. As for Klein Collins, their record now sits at 16-6.

Klein Forest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 69-39 defeat against Tomball on the 3rd. As for Klein Collins, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-43 victory against Westside on the 3rd.
