Motley County is 0-10 against Paducah since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Motley County Matadors will be staying on the road to face off against the Paducah Dragons at 8:00 p.m. on January 26th. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Motley County beat Patton Springs 51-45.
Meanwhile, Paducah put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They really took it to Spur for the full four quarters, racking up a 63-30 victory at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 33-13.
Paducah can attribute much of their success to Jakyen Wright, who scored 18 points, and Maverick Monroe, who scored 18 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Monroe has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ethan Garabaldi, who scored eight points.
Motley County's victory ended a 11-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8. As for Paducah, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season.
Motley County was taken down by Paducah 75-23 in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Can Motley County avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
