Batavia had lost four games at home, but after bumping their record up to 7-14-1 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They walked away with a 6-1 win over the Geneva Vikings. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

As for Geneva, with the loss, they broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 17-6. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.

For Geneva's part, they saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nelson Wendell, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Vikings beat Batavia by a score of 4-3 on Saturday.
