Baseball Recap: Lyme Central's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Lyme Central had lost three games straight , but after bumping their record up to 2-3 on Tuesday that streak is in the rearview. They came out on top against the Sackets Harbor Central Patriots by a score of 14-9. The Lakers' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sackets Harbor Central fell to 2-1. The loss put an end to their undefeated start to the season.

For Sackets Harbor Central's part, Jake Peters and Damon Serow stepped up to the plate in a big way. Peters went 4-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Serow went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Peters is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Shi, who went 2-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lyme Central will challenge Thousand Islands at 4:30 p.m. on May 8. As for Sackets Harbor Central, they will venture away from home to square off against La Fargeville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
