Coudersport is 2-0 against Bucktail since October of 2021, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Coudersport Falcons will head out on the road to face off against the Bucktail Bucks at 7:00 p.m. Coudersport will be hoping to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
Last Friday, Coudersport got themselves on the board against Sheffield, but Sheffield never followed suit. They claimed a resounding 56-0 victory over the Wolverines at home. The result was nothing new for Coudersport, who have now won four matches by 21 points or more so far this season.
Dylan Howard was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 25 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 34 receiving yards. Gavyn Ayers also deserves a mention for his punt return touchdown.
Meanwhile, Bucktail was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 20-14 to Otto-Eldred/Oswayo Valley. It was the first time this season that Bucktail let down their fans at home.
With Coudersport's victory and Bucktail's defeat, both teams now sport identical 5-3 records.
Everything came up roses for Coudersport against Bucktail in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 55-6 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coudersport since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
