East Hamilton dropped to 8-2 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins on the road dating back to last season. They fell just short of the McMinn County Cherokees by a score of  50-48. The Hurricanes were up  42-28 in the third  quarter but couldn't hold on to the lead.
 Several Hurricanes players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was   Wyatt Miller, who threw for 407 yards and five  TDs while picking up 16.3 yards per attempt, and also punched in a pair of  scores on the ground.  Jaden Haywood did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 194 receiving yards.
As for McMinn County,  the  victory snapped their losing streak at three games  and leaves them with a 6-4 record. The  win almost wasn't to be: they were down  42-28 in the third  quarter.
  Lincoln Watson had a dynamite game, rushing for 268 yards and six  touchdowns. Those  268  rushing yards gave  him a new career-high.
As of now, neither East Hamilton nor McMinn County have any future games scheduled.
