The Litchfield Purple Panthers will head out on the road to  square off against  the Auburn Trojans at 1:00  p.m.  on Saturday. Litchfield is no doubt hoping to put an end to  a 13-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
 Last Monday, Litchfield came up short against Southwestern  and fell  32-24.
 The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was  Emma Diveley, who  scored ten points along with four  steals. The team also got some help courtesy of  Daphney Hartel, who  scored six points along with six  rebounds.
 Even though they lost, Litchfield  were working as a unit and  finished the game with 12  assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southwestern only posted four  assists.
 Meanwhile, Auburn ended up a good deal behind Maroa-Forsyth on Monday and lost  38-23. While losing is never fun, Auburn can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage  in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings  (they are ranked 352nd, while Maroa-Forsyth is ranked 144th).
 Litchfield has  been struggling recently as they've  lost 15 of their last 16 contests,  which put a noticeable dent in their 3-24 record this season. As for Auburn, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-15.
 Litchfield took a serious blow against Auburn  in their previous matchup  back in November of 2023, falling  56-21. The  contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Litchfield was down  31-9.
