The biggest upset of the week belonged to Roosevelt, who took down 34th ranked Issaquah, 21-17.
Skyline extended the longest winning streak in 4A KingCo - Crown this week by beating Garfield, 67-16. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Spartans.
Isaac Dotson and Eric Rodan gave Newport a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Dotson threw for 92 yards and four touchdowns, while Rodan ran for 143 yards. Teammate Conner Baumann added to the ground attack by rushing for 96 yards.
Nate Rauda was the best wideout in the league this week as Ballard fell to the Knights. Rauda tallied six receptions for 105 yards. Michael Assefa helped Ballard's passing attack out by catching five balls for 78 yards.
Sebastian Ramirez made the biggest impact on defense this week as Newport defeated the Beavers. The 6-foot-2 defensive lineman forced one fumble, recorded one fumble and racked up one sack.
6-foot-5 quarterback Max Browne of Skyline is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1374. He has also thrown 13 touchdowns. On the ground, Mike Miller's team's Dotson has rushed for 517 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Rauda. The Ballard star has 19 catches for 402 yards.
A big matchup in 4A KingCo - Crown this week will be when the Knights take on the Roughriders. As it stands, Newport is in third, while Roosevelt is in second.
The Knights suffered a letdown when it was bounced from the state Top 25 this week after a 48-7 loss to the Knights. Newport had been ranked 20th, but fell to 26 following the defeat.
