The Hulett Devils were the 44-38 winner over the Lingle-Fort Laramie Doggers when they last played one another back in February of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Hulett was beaten by Lingle-Fort Laramie 56-17 on Friday. Hulett's defeat continues a unfortunate trend for the team, making it three in a row.
Lingle-Fort Laramie's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Natalie Speckner led the charge by scoring 13 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Brenly Shipp, who scored 12 points along with seven steals.
Hulett's loss was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-3. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 24.5 points per game. As for Lingle-Fort Laramie, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Hulett's road trip will continue as they head out to face Southeast at 8:00 a.m. on December 16th. Southeast's defense has only allowed 23.5 points per game this season, so Hulett's offense will have their work cut out for Hulett. As for Lingle-Fort Laramie, they will play host again and welcome Encampment, where tip off is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Wyoming (Encampment is ranked 21st, while Lingle-Fort Laramie is ranked 35th).
