Basketball Game Preview: Vision vs. Wilder Wildcats

Vision hasn't had much luck against Wilder recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Vision will head out to square off against the Wilder Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Vision will bounce into Thursday's contest after beating Notus, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. Vision was the clear victor by a 49-28 margin over Notus on Tuesday. Vision has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

Raelynn Nickel continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a triple-double on 22 points, ten rebounds, and ten steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Aubrie Parrish was another key player, putting up five points along with 18 boards and three steals.

Vision smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 38 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 13 offensive boards in 13 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, Wilder entered their tilt with Liberty Charter on Monday with 12 consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with 13. They took down the Patriots 38-24.

Wilder's win was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.6 points per game. As for Vision, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record this season.

Vision couldn't quite finish off Wilder in their previous meeting back in January of 2024 and fell 20-17. Can Vision avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
