The York Institute Dragons put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Eagleton College & Career Academy 61-7 at home. The result was nothing new for York Institute, who have now won seven matchups by 26 points or more so far this season.
Riylin Miller was a one-man wrecking crew for York Institute as he rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries. Miller's longest rush was for an incredible 78 yards. Another player making a difference was Logan Pannell, who rushed for 103 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
York Institute's victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 11-0. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 1-9 Tellico Plains and 2-9 Cumberland Gap (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 44% over those games). As for Eagleton College & Career Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 4-7.
York Institute will take on Oneida at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oneida will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings (they are ranked 223rd, while York Institute is ranked 80th). Eagleton College & Career Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
