Basketball Recap: South Bend St. Joseph Skates Past South Bend Adams with Ease

South Bend St. Joseph won the last time they faced South Bend Adams and things went their way on Thursday too. The South Bend St. Joseph Huskies took their contest with ease, bagging an 87-58 win over the South Bend Adams Eagles. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.

South Bend St. Joseph's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Chase Konieczny, who went 10 for 17 on his way to 24 points and eight boards. The dominant performance also gave Konieczny a new career-high in three-point shooting accuracy (80%). Ethan Roseman was another key player, dropping a double-double on 14 points and ten assists.

South Bend St. Joseph smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 24 consecutive matches dating back to last season.

Jarvis Tolbert and Kalen Allen certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Tolbert went 11 of 22 to rack up 23 points, while Allen went 5 for 12 en route to 11 points and five rebounds. Tolbert's evening made it seven games in a row in which he has scored at least 15 points. Samuel Pryor also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assist of the season.

South Bend St. Joseph's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 82.5 points over those games. As for South Bend Adams, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 9-8 record this season.

South Bend St. Joseph didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, an 80-64 loss against Chicago Mt. Carmel on the 8th. As for South Bend Adams, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 59-46 defeat against Portage on the 8th.
