The Ephrata Tigers will head out to take on the Selah Vikings at 3:00 p.m. on Friday. Ephrata has given up an average of 8.9 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Ephrata is probably headed into the contest with a chip on their shoulder considering East Valley just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 13-9 to the Red Devils.
Meanwhile, Selah entered their tilt with Davis on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Pirates a 21-0 shutout. Considering the Vikings have won three games by more than seven runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Avery Brewer and Hailey Christianson were a major factor no matter where they played. On the mound, Brewer tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Christianson pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Brewer posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. At bat, Brewer went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one double, while Christianson scored a run while going 2-for-2.
In other batting news, Laci Ross was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Ross is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Kylie Colton was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs.
Selah always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .722. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Selah's record is now 3-1. As for Ephrata, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Everything went Ephrata's way against Selah when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Ephrata made off with an 18-6 win. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Vikings turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
