The Buffalo Bison had already won nine in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.2 points), and they went ahead and made it ten on Saturday. They really took it to Torrington for the full four quarters, racking up a 72-39 victory at home. Buffalo has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten matchups by 27 points or more this season.
Buffalo's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Karly Davis led the charge by scoring 21 points along with five rebounds and two steals. Davis has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last six times she's played. Another player making a difference was Grace Peterson, who almost dropped a double-double on ten points and nine rebounds.
Buffalo's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 75.8 points per game. As for Torrington, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-9.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Buffalo will take on the Panthers at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Torrington will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. Bridgeport is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
