It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Garden Grove Argonauts ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-58 victory over Ocean View. The victory was nothing new for Garden Grove as they're now sitting on three straight.
Drue Anzai continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Evan Juarez was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with seven rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Ocean View lost, one person who can't be blamed is Brayden Ackerman. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds. Ackerman hasn't dropped below 17 points for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Blake Girotti, who almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds.
Even though they lost, Ocean View were working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Garden Grove only racked up nine assists.
Garden Grove's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-16. As for Ocean View, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-14.
Garden Grove will be playing in front of their home fans against the Grizzlies at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
