The Brewster Bears will face off against the Mahopac Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Brewster is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
Brewster fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Lakeland on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 8-7.
Alanah King made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Slavkin, who went 2-for-4 with three runs and one triple.
Meanwhile, Mahopac got the win against Pawling on Tuesday by a conclusive 14-1. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.
Nicole Behler was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off six hits. What's more, she posted three strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Shivonne Barry was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Camdyn Wilson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run.
Mahopac kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least ten hits in three consecutive contests.
Mahopac's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Brewster, their loss dropped their record down to 8-10.
Brewster came out on top in a nail-biter against Mahopac in their previous meeting back in May of 2025, sneaking past 3-1. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Indians turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
