The McClain Tigers will take on the Unioto Shermans at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
McClain was handed a seven-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Thursday. They skirted past Western Brown 5-3. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Tigers as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

Conner Chandler made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.
In other batting news, Cohen Six was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs. That's the most runs he has posted since back in March.
Meanwhile, Unioto entered their tilt with Valley on Monday with nine consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with ten. They put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 12-6 victory. The Shermans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 games by six runs or more this season.
Like McClain, Unioto also got a great game from a two-way player: KB Perkins. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Perkins has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Keegan Snyder, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Caden Cutright was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases and two runs.
Unioto kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 17 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.
Unioto's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for McClain, their record now sits at 6-13.
McClain suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Unioto in their previous matchup last Tuesday. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
