West Rowan is 8-2 against Carson since February of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The two teams will round out the year against one another at 10:30 a.m. at. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
West Rowan unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of Concord by a score of 66-64. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (63), West Rowan still had to take the loss.
The losing side was boosted by Will Givens, who scored 27 points along with six rebounds. He scored a full 42.2% of West Rowan's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brant Graham , who scored 11 points along with three steals.
West Rowan struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Concord pulled down 16 offensive rebounds.
Meanwhile, Carson scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They walked away with an 81-68 win over Lake Norman Charter. The victory was a breath of fresh air for Carson as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
West Rowan's defeat dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Carson, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4.
West Rowan came out on top in a nail-biter against Carson in their previous meeting last Friday, sneaking past 63-61. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Rowan since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
