Barrington is 7-1 against Glenbrook South since August of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Barrington Fillies/Broncos will face off against the Glenbrook South Titans at 7:00 p.m. Barrington is looking to tack on another W to their 11-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Barrington put the finishing touches on their third blowout victory of the season on Friday. They put the hurt on Conant with a sharp 45-19 win. Given Barrington's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois football rankings (they are ranked sixth, while Conant is ranked 172nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Dillon Fitzpatrick, who rushed for 201 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.6 yards per carry, and also picked up 32 receiving yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Nick Peipert, who threw for 182 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 passes.
Glenbrook South fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. Everything went their way against Glenbrook North on Friday as Glenbrook South made off with a 42-21 victory. With Glenbrook South ahead 28-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Nate Canning was a one-man wrecking crew for Glenbrook South as he rushed for 330 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.4 yards per carry. Canning is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last five games he's played. Another player making a difference was Dominick Rejkiewicz, who gained 109 total yards and a touchdown.
Their wins bumped Barrington to 9-0 and Glenbrook South to 4-5.
We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as both teams have no problem gaining yardage. Barrington has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 429.4 total yards per game. However, it's not like Glenbrook South struggles in that department as they've been averaging 354.1 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
Barrington was able to grind out a solid win over Glenbrook South in their previous meeting back in September, winning 27-19. Will Barrington repeat their success, or does Glenbrook South have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
