After flying high against the Hobbton Wildcats last Friday, the Neuse Charter Cougars came back down to earth. Neuse Charter took a 31-27 hit to the loss column at the hands of Rosewood. Neuse Charter has struggled against Rosewood recently, as their game on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Several Cougars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cayley Cochran, who scored 14 points along with two steals. Cochran continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Chloe Kozloff, who scored six points along with five rebounds and four steals.
Neuse Charter's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Rosewood, their victory bumped their record up to 5-12.
Neuse Charter will head out on the road to challenge Lakewood at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Lakewood and Neuse Charter are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads. As for Rosewood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Duplin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. North Duplin presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Rosewood in North Carolina (North Duplin is ranked 214th, while Rosewood is ranked 499th).
