The Pineapple Cove Classical Academy Patriots suffered their biggest loss since December 1, 2023 on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 46-12 loss at the hands of Edgewood. While losing is never fun, Pineapple Cove Classical Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 654th, while Edgewood is ranked 253rd).
Edgewood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Emma Kelleher, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Kelleher has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayo Esemuede, who scored four points along with nine steals and seven rebounds.
Pineapple Cove Classical Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Edgewood, their victory was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-4.
Pineapple Cove Classical Academy will take on Odyssey Charter School at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Odyssey Charter School focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 29 last Friday. Edgewood won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Astronaut at 5:30 p.m. on January 11th. Astronaut is coming into the match on a six-game losing streak.
