Delavan-Darien never got on the board in their matchup on Saturday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Big Foot last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Chiefs.
Joel Janssen and Kaden Garbe made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Janssen tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Meanwhile, Garbe tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off five hits. At bat, Janssen scored five runs and stole seven bases while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances, while Garbe scored three runs and stole two bases while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Haaken Hovestol, who got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kevin O'Grady, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Delavan-Darien always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .575. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Big Foot only posted an OBP of .346.
