The Ross Rams pushed their score all the way to 57 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Aiken 61-57. While losing is never fun, Ross can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 446th, while Aiken is ranked 82nd).
Aiken's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaiden Arnold led the charge by scoring 12 points along with six assists and four steals. Another player making a difference was Justin Hawkins, who scored 17 points.
Ross has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. As for Aiken, they pushed their record up to 9-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Ross will stay at home for another game and welcome Northwest at 7:15 p.m. on January 16th. One thing working in Northwest's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four games. As for Aiken, they will head out on the road to square off against Hughes at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hughes is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.
