The Crooms Academy Panthers were the 44-38 winner over the Elite Prep Academy Eagles when they last played one another back in December of 2022, but their luck changed this time around. Crooms Academy was just a bucket shy of victory on Wednesday and fell 39-38 to Elite Prep Academy.
Several Panthers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Micah Parker, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Parker has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Aristile, who scored 14 points along with four steals.
Among those leading the charge was D'Angelo Henry, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Deontae Givens-West, who scored nine points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Crooms Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Elite Prep Academy, their win bumped their record up to 6-4.
Crooms Academy won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Warner Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Warner Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Monday. Elite Prep Academy on the road again on Tuesday and play against Varsity Opponent at 4:30 p.m. on January 30th.
