While losing is never fun, Keene Central can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 672nd, while Chazy is ranked 284th).
Chazy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Samantha Gonyo-Lafountain, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kassidy Turek, who scored 11 points.
Keene Central's loss was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-12. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 22.9 points per game. As for Chazy, the victory (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 14-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Keene Central will take on Lake Placid at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chazy, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Indian Lake Central at 6:00 p.m. on February 9th.
