The Gaithersburg Trojans can finally bid farewell to their four-game losing streak thanks to their game on Thursday. They rang in the new year with a 64-51 victory over Seneca Valley. That's another feather in the cap for Gaithersburg, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
When it comes to explaining why Seneca Valley lost, one person who can't be blamed is Jaysen Moise. Despite the final result, he scored 25 points. Those 25 points set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Ervin Maxwell, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Gaithersburg's victory bumped their record up to 2-4. As for Seneca Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-7.
Gaithersburg will square off against Northwest at TBD on Monday. As for Seneca Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Clarksburg at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
