The McQueen Lancers were the 55-24 winner over the Wooster Colts when they last played one another back in December of 2021, but their luck changed this time around. McQueen fell just short of Wooster by a score of 37-34. McQueen has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why McQueen lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Caitlin Hilson. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Hilson scored a full 52.9% of McQueen's points, the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Camilla Carlson, who scored four points along with six rebounds.
McQueen has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season. As for Wooster, their victory bumped their record up to 2-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. McQueen and South Tahoe will face off at 2:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully South Tahoe focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Thursday. Wooster will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Hug at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2024. Hug comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
