Lincoln is 8-2 against Mission since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Lincoln Mustangs will host the Mission Bears at 3:30 p.m. This will be Lincoln's first chance to prove their worth in the conference.

Lincoln came up short against San Mateo on Wednesday, falling 9-1. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Lincoln saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jerry Hou, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-2. Hou also hit a double, marking his first of the season.

Mission never got on the board in their matchup last Monday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Jefferson last Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 11-4 win. The Bears haven't had any issues with the Grizzlies recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Diego Ramirez was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Miguel Pimentel, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was Noe Zuleta, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

The win got Mission back to even at 1-1. As for Lincoln, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4.

Lincoln was able to grind out a solid victory over Mission in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, winning 5-0. Will Lincoln repeat their success, or does Mission have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
