On Thursday, Alpine was beaten by Borden County 79-28. While losing is never fun, Alpine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1225th, while Borden County is ranked 90th).
Hope Dominguez and Karolina Castillo certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Dominguez dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds, while Castillo scored six points.
This is the second loss in a row for Alpine and nudges their season record down to 4-11. As for Borden County, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Alpine won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Dimmitt at 9:00 a.m. on December 29th. Dimmitt is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Borden County, they will be playing at home against Lorenzo at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lorenzo has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 10.
