After flying high against the Bonney Lake Panthers on Tuesday, the Spanaway Lake Sentinels came back down to earth. Spanaway Lake took a 69-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Stadium on Thursday. While losing is never fun, Spanaway Lake can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 127th, while Stadium is ranked 24th).
Despite the loss, Spanaway Lake had strong showings from Aj Blanks, who scored 20 points along with eight rebounds and five assists, and Darius Alexander, who scored 16 points along with five assists. Blanks scored a full 35.7% of Spanaway Lake's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Key'Andre White was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Spanaway Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 4-2. As for Stadium, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 6-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spanaway Lake will be home for the holidays to greet Washington at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Washington comes in still looking for their first win of the season. Stadium won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Mariner at 7:30 p.m. on December 15th. Mariner has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
