The Shaw Raiders won the last time they faced the Northside Patriots, and things went their way on Friday too. Shaw came out on top against Northside by a score of 49-39. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Shaw.
Tiara Tucker was her usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with seven rebounds and six steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Shaw's points. Quishyi Walcott was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Shaw is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for Northside, they have fallen quite a ways from their 21-7 record last season and are now at 2-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shaw will take on Calvary Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Calvary Christian is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Northside, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Drew at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
