Franklin extended their losing streak to five on Tuesday, dropping them down to 2-8. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Edison Vikings. If the Yellowjackets were looking for revenge after losing 11-1 to the Vikings when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.
Priscilla Magallanez-Coleman put in work no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and three unearned) runs off two hits. Magallanez-Coleman was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one double.
In other batting news, Angelica Torres was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double.
As for Edison, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games.
On Edison's side, Alicia Leiva spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on four hits and racked up six Ks. Leiva has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Angeleya Miranda was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one double. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Jamaiya Wilson, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Franklin is set to take on their familiar foe Chavez at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Edison will face off against rival Stagg at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
