The Jasper Wildcats will venture away from home to challenge the Bedford North Lawrence Stars at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Jasper will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
Jasper's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against New Albany as they made off with a 9-0 victory. The Wildcats not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 11, 2024.
New Albany's batters probably weren't too happy with Brianna Barrix, who pitched a no hitter and racked up nine Ks (she gave up eight walks).

At the plate, Ayla Elkins was excellent, scoring three runs while going 2-for-2. Those three runs gave her a new career-high. Keira Giesler was another key player, scoring two runs.
Jasper was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Bedford North Lawrence). They came out on top against Lexington by a score of 11-7 on Saturday. With that win, the Stars brought their scoring average up to 6.6 runs per game.
Tori Nikirk and Ava Ratliff did most of the damage at the plate: Nikirk scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4, while Ratliff fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 2-for-4. Ratliff is on a roll when it comes to RBI, as she's now brought in three or more in each of the last three games she's played. Kendall Graves also deserves some recognition as she launched her first home run of the season.
The victory made it two in a row for Bedford North Lawrence and bumps their season record up to 5-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Jasper, their record now sits at 3-0.
Bedford North Lawrence's hitters will have their work cut out for them on Thursday. Jasper has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.3 strikeouts per game. It's a different story for Bedford North Lawrence, though, as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.7 strikeouts. Will Jasper keep running through batters, or will the Stars buck the trend? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
